About Us
The Institution of Engineers (India) IEI was registered under the Indian Companies Act, 1913 in the year 1920. Formally inaugurated in 1921 by Lord Chelmsford, Viceroy and Governor General of India. Under the Kolhapur Local center Geographical area of Kolhapur dicstrict, sangli dicstrict, & karard Taluka of satara dicstric is coming. Kolhapur is holy city of Goddess Shree Mahalaxmi & Chatrapati Rajashree Shahu Maharaja, it is rich heritage on historical, social, educational, political, industrial & cultural fronts, gives an insight into the growth of the region and indirectly into that of Kolhapur Local Centre. Kolhapur is well known for its Kolhapuri Chappal , Jaggri, & textile material from Ichalkarnji. Sangli is also having historical, social, educational, political, industrial & cultural history it is world biggest market of turmeric. Kolhapur, Sangli & karad are biggest & quality sugar belt. Presently Kolhapur Local Centre has on its roll.
